Joans Breast Cancer Battle

Donation protected

A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend that recently was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. She is a woman of God and with your help she can beat this horrible disease.

Joan has worked hard all her life to make a way for her and her family. Relying on no one but herself she raised a daughter and graduated college as a single mother in the 90's. Life changed when her daughter graduated and she moved to Laurel Maryland to make a new life for herself with the promise of hardwork with the reward of  financial freedom she was unable to obtain while living in the mountains of WV.  After working two jobs for almost 15 years she lost her main source of income three years ago due to the company being bought out, forcing her to rely on her part time position to make ends meet. That job ultimately became full time but she has since struggled to keep her head above water in a city where the cost of living is not affordable for the average single person.

On April 6, 2015 Joan received the news that no woman or mother wants to hear.  You have breast cancer.  With no family and a small amount of coworkers as friends Joan stands to fight this battle alone.  She received the news on April 5, 2015 that her only daughter that lives in NC was pregnant with her miracle baby.  Although great news she herself is dealing with a medical problem that puts her at high risk meaning that her help during chemotherapy and radiation would have to be minimal.

Joan started her first round of chemo and did not respond well.  She will receive chemo treatments for the next five months, then have a masectomy, followed by weeks of radiation.  Her battle is just beginning.

Please help her to relieve some of the financial strain and mental stress of medical bills and day to day living expenses as she has recently applied for short term disability and will not be able to work at minimum if the cancer is cured Feb 2016.

Any donation is helpul and we ask for your prayers as well.  Being a prideful woman she herself has never asked for help even in her time of need. She has always helped those in need in the past and I pray that each of you read this story and are touched enough to share a blessing.
