Emergency Relief: Help Us Avoid Eviction

Donation protected
Hi all, Jen here:

I have created this fundraiser to help my 5-month-old daughter and I remain housed after what has been a very difficult year for me.

As I prepare for a very important job interview later on this Monday morning, I wanted to share some of my reflections on how the past year has been both one one of the most challenging and rewarding of my entire life and also ask for your support.

My daughter Paulina has been the greatest blessing God has ever given me, a treasure trove of love more healing than anything I could have ever imagined. The radiance of her beautiful soul has illuminated my life at the most uncertain of times and become an ever brighter beacon of light cutting through the murky darkness of fear and the unknown.

If there’s one thing I know now for sure, I will never give up because love is more powerful than fear. It has given me the courage to forge ahead. Just because you are in a difficult situation at any given moment doesn’t mean you’ll stay down. When you’re in a dark place, the light of love shines the way.

(Miss Paulina Anne arrived 40 days early on November 8, 2023 and spent 3 weeks in the NICU)

Becoming disabled from the car accident I was involved in a year ago along with seven and a half months of a very difficult, unexpected pregnancy that followed have forced me to slow down and practice gratitude for all of the gifts I have been given, including those gifts that come in the form of hardships.

As difficult as things have been, I’ve leaned to take it one day- heck, sometimes one minute- at a time. I’ve come to accept these hardships as opportunities for personal growth and building of character. The hard times have made me a stronger person at my core and centered me as I embark on the rest of my journey toward a spiritual and purposeful career helping others on their own journeys of recovery from mental health and substance use problems. They are also opportunities to reflect on and practice gratitude for all of the incredible kindness and support I have received from friends and family over this past year. I would not be here today without their love, encouragement and support- you know who you are! ❤️

I’ve greatly struggled with asking for help in the past and this has been something I’ve had to learn how to do. We all want to feel supported and understood, especially when things seem out of control. This past Thursday I received yet another eviction notice on my door, one of several I have received over the past year. My daughter’s safety, health and happiness is my focus in life and I will do whatever I can to keep us afloat in this current storm, including asking for help. I have applied for aid from numerous agencies and while I am certain to get it within the next few weeks, it will not be in time to save us from eviction.

Here is a breakdown of what we owe immediately to date:

  • $1675.00 Due from March 1st to March 31st, 2024.
  • $1675.00 Due from April 1st to April 30th, 2024.
  • $35.52 for the period of May 1st, 2023 to April 30th, 2024
  • $79.00 for security deposit increase for the period of February 1st to March 1st, 2024

I just recently attained my RADT (Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician) certification and am going in for a promising job interview at 11AM (4/8/24). I promise I have been working hard nonstop to dig myself out of this hole and propel onwards and upwards. Please send prayers and positive vibes my way and if you are able, please also consider donating to or sharing this fundraiser to help my daughter and myself keep a roof over our heads. Thank you for taking the time to read this- I radiate that loving light back to you all. ❤️
