Mitch McDougal Medical Fund

On the evening of May 18th Mitchell McDougal suffered a Transient Ischemic stroke attack.  With his loving wife Pam at his side they went to the hospital in an ambulance.  With love, worry, grief and fear riding with them.  Moments in time seperated by only a few hours,  the energetic and charasmatic man we know as Mitch,  Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Artist, Santa, Outdoorsman, and Ukulele player was up the perverbial creek without a paddle.

Mitch and Pam are small buisness owners of Roses Glass.  An art studio and school specializing in fused glass in Metzger Oreon (Tigard).  Their full time staff consists of only themselves.

They are both well known in the artistic circles of glass.  Smart, talented, hard working, but most of all friendly and helpful to a fault.  They routinely reach out to help people with their time and resources, even when they are the ones who might need it more.

Mitch was not always a working Artist.  In fact he was one of the most popular School Bus drivers the Beaverton School District has ever known.  Engaging the kids on his bus with riddles, singing, and games he was a true favourite with parents, staff and kids.  Health issues changed that.

As fate, God, or happenstance occurred at the same time he was starting the best thing that ever happened to him.  A relationship with his wife Pam who also worked as a School Bus driver.  Together they took a leap of faith in each other and started Roses Glass.

Many of us picture small buisness owners as moderately wealthy lucky ones who can make their own hours, and take vacation whenever they want.  However, for those of us who know Mitch and Pam, know how they help others selflessly, know the twenty year old plus vehicles they drive that Mitch keeps repairing, and know their struggles it is an entirely different picture.

In his spare time, Mitch is a well known Santa that has been volunteering his time at the Bales Thriftway in Aloha every Holiday season. He loves the Ukulele and is an avid outdoorsman. He just found out that he wll be a Grandpa again just a few days before the stroke.

Help with medical costs, home improvements to accomodate mobilithy issues, lost wages of not running the studio are all needed.  They are both unaware of this Go Fund Me campaign.  In fact initially they would most likely dissaprove of it, concerned that they are burdening others.  But as brothers of Mitch we feel this is the time to ask for help for him and Pam.  Thank you for the support.
