For those of you who don't know, my beautiful, doting, kind hearted mother is in the ICU right now. I'm actually typing this while I'm sitting next to her in the room and I know she would hate me for asking for money, but I do not have a choice.

On Friday she fell from the second floor of our house and hit her head on a glass table. She was on the phone talking to me about my new internship when it happened. Luckily, my dad was home and called 911 and she was rushed to Yale immediately. Her brain was hemorrhaging and swollen, but the bleeding and swelling have stopped. She's having exploratory brain surgery in the morning. She also needs ankle surgery, she broke that, her wrist and compressed a vertebrae in her back. She doesn't always know where she is and she is in a lot of pain, but we are hopeful.

I flew out here immediately and I cannot leave her side. I'm sleeping in a chair in the ICU every night. My family needs me to be here to care for her, but they cannot help financially; all of our money is going towards my mom's medical needs.  My flight here was very expensive, and I am afraid I won't be able to afford rent. I also have no idea what kind of medical bills we will be facing after this nightmare is over. We could use any financial help you can give, even if it's just a dollar. More importantly, we need lots of prayers. I love her so much and I really need her to get better more than anything in the world.

Nothing makes you feel more helpless than your mom getting hurt, she's the person who usually makes everything better.
