Fighting for Sobhan (Sam)
Donation protected
Let me introduce you to Sobhan Ghavam, a husband, father, and engineer, and if you had the pleasure of meeting him, he is one of the most vibrant, energetic and infectious lovers of life you will ever meet.
On Thursday, the 26th of January, while celebrating Australia Day with family at the beach on the Sunshine Coast, Sam dived into shallow water, hit his head and sustained a broken neck and extensive brain injury.
Sam was initially admitted to the Sunshine Coast Hospital; after stabilising him, he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital under Neuro Specialist Care.
The road ahead for his recovery is still currently unknown.
After finally moving to Australia a few years ago, living the Australian dream. Sam and Emma finally settled in Brisbane, purchased a home and looking forward to raising their two kids. Sam was the sole provider for his- their financial future is now uncertain and we would like to do everything we can to try and help.
Those who know Sam (Sobhan) personally, know that he would absolutely do anything for anyone. Sam has an impact on everyone he meets in his life. He is kind, generous and thoughtful. Someone who always gives his all to his family, friends, community and work life- basically everyone he meets.
Thank you for considering helping Sam and his family. The funds raised will go towards travel costs for his brothers to come to be with Sam and help look after him. We would also like to get the family a small car to ease transportation costs for his family to and from the hospital including other things. Emma will need to go back to work while Sam is recovering. Emma is a nutritionist by profession but she needs to get accreditation asap to get a job. Any extra funds will go towards supporting Sam’ wife and kids during this extremely challenging time.
Thank you for your support. All updates on Sam’s recovery will be posted on this page.
