A message from Chelsea & Marci on behalf of Laura:

It is with heavy but hopeful hearts that we write to ask for your support for dear Laura and her girls.

As you you may know, Laura's world was shattered when she became the victim of a horrific shooting on 7/9/24. Laura miraculously survived the attack thanks to her will to live, faith, and an incredible surgical team who worked tirelessly to employ every life-saving measure at their disposal, including the removal of several of her internal organs.

As you may have seen, Laura posted a video from her hospital bed a mere 14 days into her long road to recovery. Through whispers, Laura reported the following hopeful update: "Day 14 and I am able to walk (with the help of a walker), talk, and eat soft foods." She thanked her prayer warriors and asked for continued prayers as she works hard to heal.

Unfortunately Laura experienced a set back last week and had to be moved from a rehab facility back to the main hospital. To make matters worse, Laura's attacker is still at large and law enforcement has only responded to her requests for information when her attorney reaches out repeatedly. As you can imagine, Laura, her mother and three daughters are extremely stressed and need/deserve some community support.

All the said, we write today to humbly ask for more than prayers. Laura has a heart of GOLD and has dedicated her life to servingness, both personally and professionally. She has always showed up for others in their time of need, so let's show up for her so she and her girls can focus on healing both physically and psychologically.

We also welcome grocery and restaurant gift cards for the girls, along with gift cards for pet stores so they may care for Laura's dog Axle. We are also seeking training assistance for Axle if that is something you can offer or have any suggestions.

We will post health updates and additional needs here as they arise. We thank you in advance for any support you can offer during this incredibly difficult time and, as Laura requested, please keep her and her family in your prayers.
