Hi my name is Tracey Sher and for as long as I can remember I have had one very clear dream; to participate in a life changing program in Israel called Nativ.

Over a 9 month period I, among students across the United States, have the opportunity to study at the acclaimed Hebrew University and participate in the intensive community service program of my choice. 

I have spent the last 7 years of my life committed to my Jewish identity and supporting my favorite youth group, USY. I have worked tirelessly the year as my Chapter President of United Synagogue Youth participating in local and global activities that support Israel. I have spoken about Israel, advocated for Israel and have demonstrated on Israel’s behalf. Yet sadly, have never had the chance to visit. Most all of my peers who participate in USY have gone and I have proudly watched them change right before my eyes once they return. 

The trip itself is expensive and knowing that I am putting that burden of my parents to pay it makes me upset. That is why I want to do this on my own! Moreoever, I have spent countless hours babysitting, which is my other greatest passion, in order to put money away so that I could pay for Nativ independently. Sadly, as I wrap up my senior year of high school and am approaching the time to register and commit, I have fallen short of my goal.

I am asking for your help in fulfilling what I have felt has been my destiny for years. You may ask yourselves “why help her?” I can assure you that your money will be contributing not only to my life, but more importantly to the betterment of other people’s lives. I will be working with children in need in a small town called Yerucham and will put my heart and soul into their service. We would be helping them together.
