Relief for Family in Puerto Rico

As most of you know, Puerto Rico was completely devastated by Hurricane Maria after taking an initial blow by Hurricane Irma. It is a humanitarian disaster which has not been seen on the island in a hundred years. Personally, our family has been without electricity and water since hurricane Irma. Many family members have lost absolutely everything due to either flooding or their homes have literally been blown away. One of our nieces, who has young children, expressed the challenges they are facing. One is that they have no other choice but to wash their clothing and bathe in a little stream close to their home! Secondly, there's such a demand for gasoline and bottled water and not enough to go around. They spend all day and all the fuel they have looking for fuel to run generators and water to drink.
My husband and I truly hope to raise enough money to bring abuela (grandma), our nieces and their children to the states while Puerto Rico goes through the process of recovering power and running water and/or be able to help rebuild the homes of those who have lost them. There is absolutely no way we can fund this on our own. It will take the compassion of people like you who feel led to help us bring basic necessities to our loved ones that are in need. What is greater than bringing hope and comfort to others without expecting anything in return? My heart is hopeful that if we come together we can make a difference....a little bit at a time....and we will start with those whom we call family and continue to share what we have with those in need.
