Please allow us to introduce our son, Robert Walters. Robert is our oldest son and we are very proud of him! Robert attended St. James School for Jr. High and graduated from Elizabethtown High School. He and his wife, Angela, are now living in Bangor, Maine, where she works as a nurse and Robert works at a facility helping counseling young children. Today, many of you may be unaware that Robert has been going through a difficult time this year with significant medical challenges. Out of the blue 4 weeks ago, Robert was diagnosed with Leukemia. Robert has a tough stretch in front of him but with help from all his friends and family, will come through this a stronger person. He and Angela are working hard to combat this disease, and they are determined to FIGHT!
Robert, is a quiet and very private person, quick to help anyone who needs assistance but stoic; never complaining of hardship or pain, and too proud to ever personally ask for assistance. Whether you know Robert as a friend, attended school together, or friend of the family, please consider helping a very deserving gentleman.
We have all either received his family’s gracious assistance, enjoyed their knowledge, advice and wisdom, or benefited from just their presence; it’s a great time to say thank you Robert and your wonderfully supportive family, we respect you all and would like to help. Robert’s family attend St. James Catholic Church and prayers are also very much so welcome- the power of prayer can do miraculous things!
Robert and his family need our help! He is about to take on the hardest race of his life, so the least I can personally do is run for him. As we all know the Derby Festival is on the horizon and I will be running the full marathon on April 27th, 2019. I am looking for individual donations or businesses to sponsor me for this very important cause. My goal is to raise $1,000 for every mile I will run, totaling $26,200 for Robert. Please help get behind me to help a local family in need, any help is greatly appreciated!
All funds donated will go to Robert directly and helped manage by his brother Reid and parents as he takes on this battle. These donations are targeted for medical expenses, air fare travel to and from Boston for treatment, hotels stays, food, even warm socks, etc.
