Hi everyone,
This is Mia, a sweet cat we found outside during one of the January blizzards. She was freezing, extremely underweight, and part of her tail had suffered severe frostbite.
We brought her in and found her a foster, hoping time, warmth, and care would help her recover. But despite everything, Mia kept losing weight, and we knew something wasn’t right.
After taking her to the vet, we received heartbreaking news, Mia has multiple foreign objects she likely consumed outside due to extreme hunger, which are now causing serious internal damage. She urgently needs surgery to remove them, and there is a possibility she may also need intestinal reconstruction depending on what is found during surgery.
On top of that, she will also need surgery to remove the damaged portion of her tail due to frostbite.
The estimated cost for the initial surgery alone is around $2,300, and this does not include the additional tail procedure or any potential intestinal reconstruction. At this time, we are still unsure of the full total, but it is far beyond what we are able to cover on our own.

Essa é a Mia, uma gatinha super doce que a gente encontrou na rua durante uma das nevascas de janeiro. Ela estava congelando, muito abaixo do peso, e parte da cauda dela tinha sofrido uma queimadura grave por frio (frostbite).
A gente resgatou ela e conseguiu um lar temporário, na esperança de que com tempo, calor e cuidado ela fosse se recuperar. Mas, mesmo assim, a Mia continuou perdendo peso, e ficou claro que tinha algo errado.
Levamos ela no veterinário e recebemos uma notícia muito triste: a Mia tem vários corpos estranhos que ela provavelmente comeu na rua por estar com muita fome, e isso está causando um dano sério por dentro. Ela precisa de cirurgia urgente pra retirar isso, e ainda pode precisar de uma reconstrução intestinal dependendo do que encontrarem durante a cirurgia.
Além disso, ela também vai precisar de uma cirurgia pra remover a parte da cauda que foi danificada pelo frio.
A cirurgia inicial está estimada em cerca de $2.300, e isso ainda não inclui a cirurgia da cauda nem uma possível reconstrução intestinal. No momento, ainda não sabemos o valor total, mas já é bem mais do que conseguimos pagar sozinhos.
