Our mission:
OPERATION EXPLANT, “I need to get something off my chest”, is an intimate documentary about two women removing their breast implants and their journey toward wellness. We are dedicated to supporting positive body imaging, bring understanding and companionship to the many women suffering in the dark, and to encourage awareness of Breast Implant Illness (BII). Our intention is to open hearts and minds to the reality of this vastly growing illness so that women today, as well as our future generations, can be informed and educated.

Change begins with awareness, education, and action.

Erica and Annette, and the OpEx team are dedicated to fulfilling the need to create more awareness with these main topics:
1). Education and informed consent BEFORE getting implants.
2). Emotional support for positive body imaging for preventative measures.
3). Understanding the process of explanting expensive augmentations, offering support for those in the dark.
4). Creating awareness around any foreign objects being implanted in the body and the significant distress it causes.
5). Creating awareness in the health insurance realm to encourage clinical studies and insurance coverage for those needing to explant due to illness.
6). Offering post surgical options for healthy living and proper removal of toxins and inflammation in the body.
7). Supporting partners and spouses who are the caretakers of the women with BII.

We have an incredible opportunity to help a lot of women suffering in their bodies right now because of the rapidly growing Breast Implant Illness. It’s time to bring social awareness to the world, and we need your help! We are actively raising capital to complete the filming of our docu-story so that women can be heard, doctors will finally listen, lives will be changed, and women can reclaim their lives.
Your donation will not only be a gift to humanity, it would also allow us the chance to offer a deeper understanding of the potential implications of putting a foreign object in our bodies and what happens when the body’s natural response it to protect itself. There are still many unanswered questions and because of our story, we will strive to encourage further research in order to provide scientific evidence of the challenges that hundreds and thousands of women have suffered from for years. Your much appreciated donation will fund this massive project and all it's intricacies which includes, but is not limited to: filming, editing, travel and more.

"It’s a daunting privilege to be allowed to capture the emotional experience of these brave women — especially given the nature of something so personal and female-centric. The undercurrent of a massive movement is swelling. This film is an opportunity to strengthen it and provide and intimate catalyst to positive change and healing".

Breast Implant Illness, BII, is a controversial topic these days. It doesn’t seem to matter if the implants are small or large, silicone or saline, the symptoms don’t seem to be choosy. There are literally thousands of women claiming discomfort - everything from itchy skin, to severe arthritis, to chronic pain, to multiple autoimmune disorders, to even cancer - and everything in between, the list seems endless and is leading women with implants from all over the world to now EXPLANT their expensive and painful breast augmentation in order to save their lives.
While the physical damage is apparent to many, the emotional trauma from what is seemingly recognized as a failed promise is extenuating, and no one knows how long the healing will take for those explanters living with the consequences of implants gone wrong.
And so the movement has begun.
How can we continue forward and how can we all participate in creating awareness and educate the generations to come? Follow the journey of Erica and Annette as they take you through life with implants, the emotional and physical process of explanting, and what truly happens post explant.
Operation Explant, “I need to get something off my chest”, is dedicated to informing and supporting women and men of all ages, partners, family and friends to have the meaningful conversations around body imaging, personal confidence, shaming and bullying women to fit into the societal paradigms that are damaging girls and women today.
