Christian Pellerin's cancer journey
In October of 2022, 19 yr old Christian Pellerin, was diagnosed with a rare form of Metastatic Cancer and was classified in the Poor Risk category of Stage IIIC (there is no stage IV). The disease has metastasized from the primary site to 5 vertebrae in his spine, one of which fully collapsed, liver, lymph nodes and ribs.
While Christian has been fighting this disease with everything he has, he has been unable to work and the funds received will go to help support him with travel costs, medical costs and anything else he may need.
Since October, Christian has been through multiple surgeries and 4 cycles of aggressive chemo. His tumor and stage of the cancer is so rare that his case has caught the attention of the medical community on a national level. His case was brought to the National Multidisciplinary Tumor Board, which consists of roughly 20+ of the top oncologist, doctors, surgeons and specialists from around the nation to share opinions and form a treatment plan since there is no medical data in existence to make an “official medical recommendation.”
In early February he traveled to Envita, an Integrative Cancer Care Facility in Scottsdale AZ, specializing in Precision Oncology for genomics testing and immunochemistry and to put together a treatment plan for him (Unfortunately, Envita DOES NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE and the cost for treatment is estimated at $150k). After extensive blood work his medical team recommended that he return to Dana Farber for additional surgeries, before proceeding with Envita. He has two more upcoming surgeries, after which his medical team will evaluate next steps whether it be with Envita or another center.
