Beb w' Shebbek (Door & Window)

The August 4th blast in the port of Beirut sent out shockwaves all over the world. The unfathomable scale of destruction and mayhem that the people of Beirut witnessed and suffered is unimaginable. The blast was detected as a seismic event of a 4.5-magnitude explosion. One of the most powerful non-nuclear explosions in history. The impact of the explosion spread over a large diameter, taking with it the lives of hundreds, injuring thousands, and shattering over 100,000 homes. The destruction left citizens homeless and workers jobless.
The upcoming days and weeks ahead are crucial for Beiruti residents as they pick up the shattered pieces of their existence. The need is vast in terms of medical aid, food, shelter, reconstruction, and reconfiguration of lives.
We are a group of Lebanese-Americans (Nadya Mikdashi, Hiba Yazbeck, and Elida Jbeili) that are fundraising for grassroots efforts currently underway. All of the money raised will be collected by Nadya Mikdashi in the US and distributed locally in Lebanon to Beb w Shebbek; an initiative that is helping families get back into their homes. With the support of contractors, architects, engineers, and volunteers, Beb w Shebbek will be rebuilding doors and windows so that the people most in need can continue their lives.
Watch below as founders Mariana Wehbe and Nancy Gabriel speak about their initiative.
Any amount will help raise much-needed funds for this important cause.

Additional non-profits we recommend to support:
