Hi my name is Jayme On October 31st Our lives were dramatically changed when my wife Tracy suffered multiple Hemorrhagic strokes to both sides of her brain that left her left side paralyzed, loss of peripheral vision and cognitive impairment. We have navigated her journey from ICU to Critical Care followed by one month of inpatient rehabilitation. I have had to take unpaid leave to provide around the clock care for Tracy. Upon discharge from our friends Jim and Emma Riggs opened their home to us due to Tracy’s inability to use the stairs to get into our home. We graduated to both Outpatient Physical and Occupational therapy 3 times a week that is a an hour away.
Tracy has come a long way from having to use a Hoyer Lift; unable to sit up or stand-on her own. She can now sit up without assistance; stand and walk short distances with use of a quad cane. Her peripheral vision has returned and her cognitive function has made great improvement. She has recently returned from 2 weeks of inpatient rehabilitation for intensive therapy concentrating on being able to use stairs and being able to use the restroom by herself while I am at work and has resumed outpatient therapies.
Contributions will help with the construction of stairs and ramp ;
Adaptive equipment that includes a new modified toilet that meets her needs; hand rails for safety; shower chair; a custom AFO brace for her left leg that aides in her ability to walk; specialized shoes for the AFO, brace she needs for subluxation of her left shoulder, wheelchair , rental costs for the hospital bed she needs at this time and various other items needed for her rehabilitation Your contributions will also help pay bills and gas for travel to outpatient treatments until I am able to return to work and has a few paychecks to get us back on track financially. If funds allow, we will get a H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation system to help restore function to her left arm and hand.
Any contributions prayers and sharing our GoFundMe are
greatly appreciated .
