My Story

This year has come with a lot of medical issues but This summer, I received news that turned my world upside down: I have breast cancer. The good news is my prognosis is positive, for the most part, and I feel confident in my treatment plan. In December, I’ll be undergoing a mastectomy.

I’m incredibly grateful to live in a country where my medical costs are covered, but prehab and recovery brings its own set of challenges.

As a massage therapist, I work for myself. That means when I can’t work, I don’t have paid leave or a safety net. Recovery will take several months, and during that time I’ll need to step away from the work I love in order to focus fully on healing.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I’m raising funds to cover my basic living expenses while I recover. This support will give me the gift of peace of mind, so I can put all my energy into rehabilitation instead of worrying about how to keep a roof over my head and not falling into bankruptcy.
