Luna's Surgery

We are fund raising.
It started 3 months ago with Luna rapidly losing weight after bouts of diarrhoea and vomiting - her usual chipper personality started to flatten and this was very unusual for Luna.
She had multiple trips to the vets where the most likely diagnosis was a food allergy, so her diet was changed to a prescription meal plan which helped up until 1 week ago, where diarrhoea and loss of appetite started again.
Luna began to lose weight again, we tried different prescription diets and tricks to try to fuel her appetite but nothing seemed to work.
Rach being the precautions and loving owner that she is took her straight to the vet, who thought prehaps it was irritable bowel.
Rachel was worried it was somthing more sinister than a food allergy and lucky for Luna a close friend and incredible vet came to our house to check up on her for another opinion.
On Tuesday morning at the vets they suggested we do bloods, xray and ultrasound but it wasn't urgent and had us booked in for 5 days time. Luna was very chirpy still and her vitals were stable so we felt better knowing she wasn't considered urgent.
But still, our diligent friend that had checked on Luna the previous day had a really strong feeling that something wasn't quite right.
So she mentioned this to her boss who said they could squeeze her in for a specialist ultrasound in Perth that very day.
Luna was driven straight up to Perth from margaret river that very same afternoon.
The results came in and it wasn't good news.
The ultrasound revealed that she had a large obstruction in her bowel caused by an intussecpition, which is the intestines folding back on themselves. If this had been left any longer it would have perforated and she would have died. They had to make a decision on the spot. But regardless of price Luna's life had to be saved.
Not only was there the ultrasound, the bloods, urine, foecal tests and the consults, but during the 3 hour surgery 40cm of her bowel had to be removed with healthy bowel reattached back together. Then more tests had to be done to ensure it wasn't cancer as from the severity of the case, her lyphmhnodes had enlarged.
Anyone who has had the joy Luna being in their life knows how truly special she is.
She has helped all of us, through some extraordinarily difficult times, without her I know alot of us would have struggled through the last year alot more without her unconditional love and cuddles. There was no question that Luna had to be saved, but as with anything in life, it comes at a price.
This is where we reach out to anyone who knows Luna.
Any kind of contribution would be so greatfully received.
This gofundme was created by Lunas aunties and uncles to help Rachel, Lunas mum who has put her every dollar into saving her babies life.
Love,
Luna's family and friends.
