Eliza Duaa Akhtar / 04.06.24 - 27.10.24

4Eliza, 4 months, 4th June, for Eliza.

Born at 28 weeks, 12 weeks early, Eliza Duaa Akhtar came into this world & blessed us all with the biggest ray of sunshine. She was our world, and still is. Unfortunately after 145 days, Eliza lost her life & heaven gained an angel, Eliza was born premature & developed Chronic Lung Disease as she surpassed the time span of being on oxygen support, damaging her lungs. With multiple things going on in the first few months of her life, she was fortunate enough to make it home with us for 3 weeks before she passed.

Eliza came home on oxygen support (minimal) & an NG tube, to help support her oral feeds as she struggled to take down full bottles. We had the most amazing time with Eliza at home making so many memories. Unfortunately there came a time where Eliza wasn't herself so we rushed her to hospital. After some time we were told she had an infection but also had later developed Pulmonary Hypertension as well as her Chronic Lung Disease. Unfortunately Eliza suffered 2 cardiac arrests in the span of a week, amazingly she survived the first but once transferred over to another hospital she suffered another cardiac arrest whilst in an induced coma.

This whole event has affected as massively & we will never get over it. However we would never want anybody else to go through this. Which is why we want to set up this page to raise as much money & support as possible to help others going through this & to the NHS that have helped as tremendously during this whole period.

From NICU to PICU, we are so grateful for all the NHS staff involved helping Eliza in the 145 days that she was in this world, without them, she may not have made it this far.

Any amount donated is a penny towards supporting others in similar situations, in the name of Eliza, we want to help as many other Eliza's in the world to keep them going & striving.
