Our dad, Jim, was recently diagnosed with terminal Retroperitoneal Sarcoma, which has metastasized to both his pancreas and adrenal glands, causing adrenal hemorrhage and adrenal insufficiency. Sarcoma is a very rare type of cancer, accounting for about 1% of cancers diagnosed every year. The only treatment option is chemotherapy, which can help to attempt to shrink the mass and control the pain, but may not always work. This type of cancer causes a very painful condition as the tumors continue to grow, pressing on all of the abdominal organs, gastrointestinal tract, and nerves. This causes continuous pain and requires routine use of pain medications and other drugs to control the symptoms and the adrenal insufficiency. 

My dad’s diagnosis carries an extremely heavy weight, both emotionally and financially. As he battles this cancer and spends countless nights in the hospital, the medical bills continue to accumulate. Our family is extremely grateful for any support to help pay these growing expenses.
