Get Steve's Face Back

Every day I look in the mirror and see the face that others know me by. Up until about a year ago, this was a face that I felt proud to show to the world.

A year with squamous cell carcinoma has changed all that. Because of the ravages of skin cancer, my face now has a gaping lesion from surgery and a golf ball-sized tumor over my right eye. My face looks so horrific that I must cover up the area with bandages, and I feel like Quasimodo when I go out in public.

I've discovered an excellent cancer clinic in Mexico that offers a suite of alternative cancer therapies developed by its director, Dr. Carlos Bautista, a very amazing and warm-hearted individual who is a pioneer in the field of alternative cancer therapies. Fortunately for me, the clinic is a brief plane ride away. That being said, IMHO it's a shame that we have to go outside the US to find quality medical care.

The funds that I receive from all of you will be used as follows (all in US dollars):

I considered setting up different tiers of support, each with its reward package but decided that would be way more complicated than needed. I'll keep each of you updated along the way, and I'll be happy to host a little celebration afterward.

With all this, I still feel grateful to be alive and enjoy the goodness and beauty we receive every day.
