Extend love to Satya (Katie)

Hi all <3

If you know Satya/Katie, you know she is deeply loved in the Charlotte Community, and you probably love + appreciate her yourself. Her plate is always full and she’s always doing something to help someone. She spends little (time and money) on herself. Unfortunately for Katie, the past few weeks have been increasingly difficult and full of twists and turns, and she’s the last person who deserves all these things happening to her. My hope is that we, as a community, can find at least $5 to give back to someone who has helped everyone else.

A loved one was facing eviction due to their home being unfit for habitation, so Katie spent a week getting the space up to code, and that person into rehab. Then, that loved one had a massive (and expensive) health scare. This person has been unable to work for quite some time due to health related issues and is now faced with $10,000+ in medical bills. Katie has spent so much of her own money trying to help those she loves.

On top of this, one of Katie’s dogs, Syrio (10), unexpectedly started having seizures. The first one they noticed was on 7/17. Syrio was put on seizure meds and it seemed to help a little bit. On 7/26, this good boy had to get an MRI. It was found out that Syrio had Giloma in his brain. Long story short - all the avenues and chances to get help for him were no longer available. Katie had to make the toughest decision, to put her best friend to sleep on 8/3. Katie spent a lot of her savings on vet bills and isn’t able to move forward in getting Syrio’s cremation & ashes. I watched as Syrio became a different dog who was running into things and going in circles. It felt devastating to witness. The heartbreak I could see in Katie was equally devastating.

I set the goal to 10k but the more we can raise, obviously the better. Katie is always giving and she deserves our help at this point in time. She’s a magical human who is always smiling through hardship. Every time I see her she seems exhausted but never stops going so she can continue to make ends meet. If we can help take some weight off her shoulders, I know she would be extremely appreciative. If you can’t donate, sharing is helpful. Also just sending your love, hugs, quality time, or personal things you can offer, she would love. Thank you for taking the time to read this and to love on this human.
