Parker's Motorcycle Accident Emergency Fund
Donation protected
Parker, my husband, was driving his motorcycle straight through a light when a car turned left crashing into him. Parker was wearing his helmet and protective jacket. He reacted the best way possible according to the officers on the scene. Despite that, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where they found his spleen had been shattered and caused a high volume of blood loss that was almost fatal. His other injuries included a laceration to his liver, severe bruising on his lungs which required ventilation. He also broke his femur and tibia, his pelvis was split apart and there is damage to ligaments in one knee.
Doctors were able to perform surgery on his leg, but he still has more surgeries ahead. He will not be able to walk for a couple of months. His stay in the ICU is hopefully ending this week, but he will spend another 1-2 weeks in the hospital recovering from surgery and monitoring his blood and his lungs. After that, he will be taken to an inpatient rehabilitation center where he will participate in aggressive therapy there for at least a month. The doctors have projected that it will be 6-12 months before he will be fully recovered and back to his normal functioning.
Because of the length of time that he will not be able to work, I'm hoping for help keeping ourselves afloat in our little Millcreek apartment. We love our home and our life and things have been turned upside down for the foreseeable future. Any help keeping some of those things together is very appreciated. His job isn't able to cover all of this time off and I will be taking more time off to help him through the trauma and rehab. We appreciate and love all of the love and care we've been given already. Thank you for your prayers!
