I am a member of the group Michigan Boston Terriers, where I met Mariah Clifton and her little Boston Jacobe.
It was discovered that Jacobe's bladder is filled with urine crystals and he has had, and will need, veterinary specialists to treat this painful condition.
Jacobe is on a special diet and has been needing weekly care that includes ultrasounds and lab work. He is scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow, which he can not get because of the cost, which exceeds $150 a week. If the crystals don't clear on their own, Jacobe will need surgery.
Mariah is a single mother and an essential worker. Unfortunately, the veterinary costs are beginning to exceed what she is able to provide, and she is facing the agonizing decision of ending Jacobe's suffering from a treatable condition.
Jacobe is a spunky, affectionate, Boston baby who deserves a chance at life.
Surgery would remove these crystals from his bladder and give him a relatively normal life.
It is my hope that we can pull together as a group of people who love Boston Terriers and help Mariah save her sweet baby.
