Help Support the Johnson Family

Hi! Kyle is a beloved friend and colleague of ours at UPS.

On December 29, Kyle was driving home from his work shift and was hit by another car around 10:30pm. Kyle’s vehicle went off the road, rolled, and he was ejected a few hundred feet out. Kyles body hit a tree, and the vehicle was completely totaled. The other car fled the scene.

A witness of the accident, Michelle, pulled over, called 911, and was with Kyle to keep him conscious until an ambulance and police came. Michelle later went back to the scene, found Kyles phone, tracked Hannah down via community Facebook pages and brought the phone and food to Kyle and Hannah at the hospital.

Kyle is currently in critical condition in the ICU trauma unit at the hospital. He has a collapsed lung, spinal fractures, broken collarbone, spleen ruptured and removed completely, lots of bruising and is in a lot of pain. He had a coil implant inserted to plug the renal artery and foam that is absorbing the internal bleeding. He has a long journey of healing ahead of him.

Kyle is the only bread winner in his family (including his wife Hannah and two daughters Sedona and Ember), and they only own the one car he was driving. The car was older and only had liability insurance on it, so it is a total loss with the other vehicle fleeing the scene. Thankfully, Kyle has good health insurance thanks to UPS, but will be out of work for some time.
