Steaks for Soldiers

Hi guys!

Just wanting to fill you in on, and hopefully include you in on a plan I have.... 

Tom and I have a friend who is currently doing another tour in Afghanistan, this time he'll be there, (again away from his home, wife and young kids) until Spring of next year.

He and his group have a plan to celebrate the 4th of July with a BBQ.

I thought it would be neat if some of us could come together and collectively arrange to supply the group of 20 soldiers with steaks for their BBQ.
 
I think it's a great way to show our support, thank them for the sacrifices that they make for all of us, and help them celebrate such an important holiday ~ in USA style!

***UPDATE***
I'm in complete AWE of the love and support shown by everyone!
In less than 24 hours we have not only reached, but EXCEEDED our goal!!!!

Although I had to be in contact with our friend, Nathan, to plan this, I didn't initially include him in on all of the details. (I wanted the magnitude of it to be a surprise)
However, I quickly realized that by sharing the cause publicly on Facebook, it would allow more people to contribute and feel as special as I do being able to help!
The support that is flowing in just AMAZES me, especially considering much of it is coming from those that have personally made the choice to serve and their families that have also sacrificed!!!!!!! Just no words to completely describe how PROUD I am to have the circle of friends, and friends of friends we have!!!! TRULY BLESSED!!!!!

While I haven't gotten an exact total yet to include special meat shipping coolers, and shipping, (Sherri of Schenecker Farms has asked for a little patience as this being Memorial Day week is one of their busiest of the year) I think it's safe to say that if we increase the goal and keep spreading the word, we can support even more troops, still in time for this 4th of July!!!!

WHAT AN AWESOME FEELING!!!!!! I absolutely can't wait to see this through!!!!!
