Greetings I salute the divinity in you,
I am Theresa Delaney and I am writing to ask for your support. After the passing of my parents just before I was two years old, I was adopted by a caring aunt who loved God and who had 13 children of her own. Living in such a large household taught me a lot about the importance of family, and how to depend upon God for guidance, direction, and provision.
At the age of 18, my loving sister Francis and I moved into a small apartment of our own. My late sister, Rose, insisted that I graduate from high school and attend college. When I wanted to drop out of college with only a semester to go, she was adamant that I finish my college education. After I graduated from college, I began work in a local after-school program caring for children whose parents work schedule extended beyond the school day. Throughout my young adult life, I continued to work with and advocate for children and their parents. A few years later, God called me to the mission field; I later became an evangelist, my primary focus became assisting youth and young adults, strengthening family unit and helping senior citizens.
In 2004, I developed a non-profit program called God-UC (Guidance Opportunity Development Under Construction), a non-profit youth organization which focus is children and developing self-reliant, productive citizens. God-UC operates throughout the year and provides educational enhancement and community activities for youth. Participants receive tutoring in subjects needed and participate in community service projects, (ie., packing food at Gleaners, performing for seniors at the Bowen Center, and picking up paper at the public library and throughout the city of Pontiac. They also adopted and beautified (planted flowers and painted fixtures) at a local park. Through the program, participants have gone on college tours, fishing trips, and skating. They also attended Pistons basketball games, Tigers baseball games, the DIA, and took a trip to Disney World in Florida.
Recently, I have been diagnosed with Stage 3B cancer of the lymph nodes, and I am scheduled to begin the first of five months of chemotherapy treatment next week, September 7, 2022. As of today, 80% of the funding needed to fund my health care has been provided through health insurance and my personal contribution. Although treatment will begin on September 7, I am in dire need of financial assistance to cover the remaining balance. While I do not know what that will be, I do know that I need help to pay it. To that end, I am asking for your financial assistance. I thank you and appreciate whatever amount God puts on your heart to give—no amount is too small.
I have faith in God that with the right medical attention and your help (to alleviate financial worries), my body will heal, and I can get back to the business of advocating for children, the family, and seniors!
If you would like to contribute to this financial need, you’re welcome to send your contribution to my GoFundMe account or send donations to my Cash App ID: $MSTD263.
Thank you and blessings to you love and light,
Theresa Delaney
