Cyrus needs surgery
Donación protegida
Hi, my name is Dr. Kamio Jones, I work with the sweetest guy named Cyrus. He is the best therapy dog and loves his job for the past three years at DECS. I have seen Cyrus help not only countless children, but also adults. It could be just a lick while walking by or laying down and staying by their side during a difficult time.
Every day Cyrus is on campus the students and staff have a great time hanging out with him. He brings a smile to everyone's face. He loves to walk into a classroom with an open door to check out what is going on. If there is a sunspot, he may stay for a while. When he isn't relaxing in the sun you will find him with his mama Mrs. Ja'net Williams. She is DECS's behavioral interventionalist. Cyrus is a huge help to the whole behavioral team. Many call for his assistance over the sound system, and he is always ready to go running.
Unfortunately, Cyrus is unable to run at the moment. He needs surgery on both knees for torn cranial cruciate ligaments (equivalent to the ACL in humans). Due to the type of injury, it would not be covered by insurance. The estimated cost for both knees is $10,000. We know many people love Cyrus and want him back at work feeling great. If you would like to help Cyrus get back on his feet and start running into classrooms again, feel free to donate. Every penny helps.
