Bernie’s medical fund

Our family is asking for your support in providing care for our year and a half old doodle, Bernie.

On Saturday, august 20, our precious baby became very ill. We brought him to our vet for treatment and came to the conclusion that he had ingested a foreign body and it has become lodged in his small intestine, causing an intestinal blockage. He was given a barium treatment and other medications with the hope of moving the object along so he would be able to pass it naturally. His condition did not improve and he was admitted to VCA on Monday aug 22. After further testing, we have learned that the only way to treat our poor baby is surgery. In a perfect scenario, the object will be removed via incision from his intestine, but there are many complications including poor blood flow to the area, which could make the surgery more complicated leading to a redaction of the affected tissue. This surgery is not without risk, and Is most definitely not cheep. The total cost of his care is undetermined at the moment but it will most definitely be over 10 thousand. Our hope is that you can find it in your heart to help out in whatever way you can, by sharing this fundraiser or donating any amount, large or small. Bernie means so much to us and we are absolutely beside ourselves at the thought of losing him. We appreciate any help that you can offer, and so does our beautiful baby boy!
