This is the story of a young man whose mother helped me take care of my two little girls during what I considered the roughest time of our lives.
I believe that we do not meet people by accident and we are all interconnected for a divine purpose.
Please help me raise some funds to save this young man's life..No donation is too small.
His name is Marvin Vijay Thomas,born on September 18th,1995 in St.Ann,Jamaica.He currently lives with a single,unemployed mother and nephew.
A month ago he was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma(http://www.dana-farber.org/Health-Library/Childhood-Synovial-Sarcoma.aspx)
,which is a rare cancer mostly affecting teens and young adults.
What happened was,he first noticed a growth in the palm of his left hand about a year ago and was encouraged to seek medical attention.
A biopsy was done confirming the diagnosis and he was later referred to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay,Jamaica.
Obtaining help from his family,they were able to cushion the cost of a Cat scan of his chest,hand and pelvis demonstrating spread of the disease to his lungs.
He will need to start 6 cycles of chemotherapy over the course of 6 months with a follow up Cat Scan afterwards and also blood tests before and after each session if needed.
Unfortunately,his mother who is unemployed,is being evicted from a previously leased property and struggles with the daily challenges to provide even their basic needs.
I am asking for help towards his treatment costs and follow up so he can fight this disease and move on with his life.As any young person,he has dreams and aspirations to become a part of something great,leaving an indelible mark on the world.
