I want to tell you all about my Aunt Elaine, 53 years old. She is married to my Mom’s youngest brother, Michael. They have been married for 20 years. They have no children.  She was an elementary school teacher for many years in the Catholic school system at St. Mary’s in Govans. She was promoted to principal, until the school was closed. Her passion has always been children and being an educator. For the past couple of years she has been the director of a day care center.  A couple of weeks ago she was having trouble with her vision and went to the doctors. She was transported immediately to GBMC for further testing and a brain biopsy. Our hopes for good news were not to be. She was given the diagnosis today of cancer of the brain, an ANAPLASTIC ASTROCYTOMA TUMOR GRADE III. It is not operable and the treatment is chemotherapy. My Uncle Mike has been on disability for several years from sever back pain and herniated disks. My Aunt Elaine is having memory problems even for the simplest of tasks, like how and where do her eye glasses go. Obviously, the medical costs will be overwhelming as well as the loss of her income, since she isn’t able to work and has to be supervised. I am asking on their behalf if you could find it in your heart to help in any way,  it would be very much  APPRECIATED and helpful.
