Liver for Lizzie

Donation protected
Elizabeth was born in liver failure. Diagnosed with Neonatal Cholestasis at 5 days old, and officially diagnosed with Biliary Atresia at 6w7d when she had her first life saving surgery, the Kasai procedure, done. That surgery gave us 6 long and wonderful months with a happy and healthy baby girl. On May 28th, Elizabeth was admitted to Lurie Children’s in Chicago for the first time since her surgery for an infection, Cholangitis, of her liver and bowel. Things have only gone downward from there and not even a full 2 weeks later, her surgery has officially been deemed a failure and she is in need of a life saving liver transplant. She is home now after 2 back to back hospital admissions totaling 11 days out of the last 14. Now it is just a waiting game. Her health seems to be declining rapidly and we have never been so terrified before in our lives. We were expecting it to be years before transplant, now we only have months. I (mom) am currently not working, due to severe postpartum anxiety and depression, and dad has had to miss work lately to stay home with big sister Addie while I stay in the hospital with Elizabeth. We have made this GoFundMe to strictly help with transplant costs, because it will not be cheap, and we will not be able to do it without help. We appreciate everyones love, thoughts, and prayers
