Hi everyone, I am creating this on behalf of my sister Kate, and right now our family is living our worst nightmare. Kate is in the hospital, fighting for her life after a horrific assault. We are terrified, heartbroken, and desperate to do something—anything—to help her.
People have reached out asking how they can stand with us during this unimaginable time. We don’t know what the future holds for Kate, or where these funds may ultimately go, but if you want to support her or honor the causes she cares about, this is the place.
After a brutal assault left Kate in critical condition, the accused could be released on just $10,000 cash bail—less than a cash payment he bragged about receiving this week. Rhode Island State AG Peter Neronha’s office has reportedly overruled the Newport County AG and police recommendations to set bail at this low amount. We urge the Attorney General’s office to reconsider this decision and prioritize survivor safety, careful oversight, and accountability in our justice system.
Please urge for this decision to be reconsidered.

If you or anyone you know is in an abusive relationship, please take action and find out more information on how you can help.
Kate attended Pennfield School in her early years, later graduating Portsmouth High School in 2022. She is about to transfer to URI to study business, and has been a friendly face at the YMCA for years. She is an avid member of the community, is learning to knit, loves listening to music, way more talented at makeup than I ever could be, and loves with her entire soul. Thank you for the support as we assist in her healing
