Vista Ridge Strength and Conditioning
Vista Ridge High School is home to more than 1700 students. With a majority of the students being in some form of after school program, whether it is athletics, activities, or clubs. These students are constantly doing extracurricular activities. One of the main areas that are used by the students is the weight room. Throughout the day the weight room is used from 6 am until 4:30 pm with athletes before and after school as well as strength and conditioning classes throughout the day. Roughly around 250 students will go through the weight room daily between classes and before and after school.
With the volume of students that go through these doors daily the equipment becomes broken, starts to wear out, or is in need of updates. Currently, we have elastic bands that have started to rip and have to be thrown away, medicine balls that are broken and have a split in them, which does not allow us to use them. As well as, the medicine ball storage racks that are broken and have been modified with tape to hold them. Our platforms where we do Olympic lifts are starting to break down and need to be replaced. Iron plates that have chips broken off, as well as, bumper plates that have been here since the school opened.
We want to be able to provide the best opportunity for our students to succeed not only in the learning of strength and conditioning but those that use the weight room to enhance their performance for their extracurricular activities.
With your help, we would love to raise money for the items listed as well as look into the future of what we would need to be able to provide these students with the best learning experience possible.
