Hello, we're Jerry and Misty Hudspeth.

I’ve been blessed to spend the last 24 years married to the love of my life and my best friend, Misty. Throughout our journey together, I’ve done my best to be a devoted husband and father, always putting my family first. No matter what challenges come our way, I’ve always said, “Whatever it takes.”

In recent years, we've been facing a series of medical hardships that have put a tremendous strain on our family and our marriage. Despite everything, Misty and I have remained each other's rock. We’ve never had the chance to take a vacation before, but recently, we were given an opportunity to travel to Cozumel—just the two of us—to rest, recharge, and enjoy some much-needed time together.

When we arrived, it truly felt like a dream. But only three days into the trip, our joy was shattered. Misty, who has been bravely battling diabetes for years suddenly developed a severe infection in her left leg. Within 48 hours, her lower leg turned black and blue. We rushed back to the states to the hospital, where we were given the devastating news that her left leg had to be amputated.

Doctors believe the infection come from bacteria in the water, though we still don’t know exactly what it was. This experience has been traumatic and life-altering—for Misty, for me, and for our entire family.

We’re not the type to ask for help, but this situation has turned our world upside down. Misty’s recovery will be long and challenging, and it’s going to be a major adjustment for all of us—physically, emotionally, and financially.

I love my wife more than words can say. She is my heart, my home, and my strength. I’m sharing our story in the hope that someone out there might be able to lend a hand or simply offer a kind word of support during this incredibly difficult time.
