Our club is situated in Gogobole village in Venda country in the north of South Africa. The aim of the club is to support a healthy lifestyle for at-risk youth. We currently have 4 teams, under 13's, under 15's, under 17 team and under 15 girls team. The teams train Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and play matches on Saturday and Sundays.

I grew up here and I love this village but the situation is worsening. Youth unemployment is 100% which often leads to drug and alcohol problems. I honestly believe that my love of soccer from a young age was the positive influence that put me on the right path. Daily, I put my energy and time into the club to share health with my community. This is a preventative and responsive method. Preventive through positively engaging the players in soccer daily, which reduces their time for negative influences. And responsive as a lot of the older players are being recruited and supported to make healthy choices and become positive role models.

Create positive community events in ethos
Prevent at risk youth exposure and attitude toward illicit substances

My first goal is to promise the kids regular matches by registering them in the existing men's league. To be able to promise the kids a year of registration, equipment and transport I need AU$2000. Below you can find a breakdown of our expenses.

My second goal is to create tournaments and eventually a youth league to engage youth from neighbouring villages in regular matches. For this I will need rewards and incentives and administration expenses.

About me:

I am not only a community member and soccer coach, I am the first in my family to complete a bachelor's degree in public administration. I volunteer as a teachers assistant and I am engaged politically.

Registration in league for 2022: 3800 rand (300 AUD) for 20 players, 50 rand (5 AUD) per additional player
Referee: 100 rand (10 AUD) per team per game
Transport to away games: 400 rand (40 AUD)
Balls (600 rand each/ 60 AUD)
Uniforms (Kit: top, shorts, socks = 200 rand each)
Cones and bibs (30 rand each)
Pump and pin (150 rand, 30 rand)
Water (5-20 rand per game)
Boots (400 rand, 40AUD)
Soap for washing uniforms (80 rand 1kg)
Food for players during tournaments ( 20 rand per loaf)
Team building BBQ (400 rand)
