Milo's resilience has touched the hearts of the medical team and his family, which includes two children—a loving 12-year-old and a precious new born baby.

The intended target was a neighbour who, heartbreakingly, lost their life in this senseless act of violence. Unfortunately, Milo's home bore the brunt of the gunfire, leaving it riddled with bullet holes. The traumatic incident has not only left Milo fighting for his life but has also deepened the sorrow for the household, who have already experienced the loss of two beloved canine companions.

Clearly, the family is caught off guard with this unexpected crisis, making it a financial struggle to cover Milo's vet bills, which are already at $6,300. He desperately needs more medical treatment to survive, which will skyrocket the already surprise expense. Without the funds for the Veterinarian and Surgery Specialist, Milo's chance of survival is in jeopardy. Why Milo is a Miracle:

Milo was already saved once as a pup, when this family found him as a rescue and brought him to a loving home, where they worked through his trauma.

Despite the odds, Milo is a miraculous survivor - defying the severity of his injuries - he still made his way to the newborn baby's side, after being shot in the same room where she was sleeping - the family believes he was aware of the danger around on that fatal morning.

Anyone with an animal knows the bond and unconditional love of a K9 companion.

The family is currently displaced, while evidence is gathered and bullets are removed by forensics. The thought of going back is daunting, although they recognize this is a rare occurrence, ideally the family would like to eventually move, as returning to the scene of the crime is triggering too much trauma for the young girl, and we are not yet sure how Milo will react, as he is still in hospital.
