Corey’s Road to Recovery

Hello everyone! I have started this GoFund Me in hopes of raising money for the numerous medical bills my sister, Lisa, and her husband, Corey, will come to face over the next year at least. They have been through a lot together these past 19 years. They have 3 beautiful children: Brooklyn (14), Bexlie (7), and Lincoln (4).

First and foremost, I want to thank God for sparing Corey’s life. Even though it is hard to see right now, I know there is a purpose for this journey. 2 nights ago, Corey was only 30 minutes away from home when he was involved in a head on collision. He’s sustained several major injuries. His right ankle is an open fracture. It is so severe that amputation is a possible option. They are in the process of getting a 2nd opinion from an orthopedic surgeon to see if it can be saved. He has multiple fractures in both of his legs. He has already had one surgery to fix the right femur and will require multiple additional surgeries, including a rod to his left femur and surgery to his pelvis. His hospital stay has already been complicated with a small brain bleed and fighting a fever. They are doing everything to prevent any additional complications like blood clots and pneumonia.

The good news is that he is oriented and still making jokes. Corey has been the family’s sole provider for a very long time, allowing Lisa to care for their children. This road to recovery is going to be long and it’s going to be extremely tough. Corey will have to learn to walk again and it is not known when or if he will be able to return to work. Any donation will be very much appreciated. We will try to keep everyone updated as much as possible and we ask to respect the family’s privacy.
