Kelsey’s Recovery

Hi my name is Jessica, and I am raising money for my dear family friend, Kelsey. One year ago Kelsey was put on a double organ transplant list for a kidney and and pancreas due to juvenile diabetes.

 

After a year on the waitlist, she received the miracle of a match for her transplant. One month ago she had the double transplant surgery successfully; however, Kelsey got a severe infection while in the hospital. She has endured 3 surgeries in the past two weeks. Kelsey was expected to make a full recovery and return to her salon and children. Now doctors tell her she will need three months to recover.

 

Kelsey is only in her 30s, a single parent with two young children. She has managed against difficult challenges to put herself through school and eventually started her own beauty salon.

 

I admire Kelsey’s strength during her health issues. Prior to her transplant, Kelsey endured hours of dialysis while raising her children and working. She is very grateful for her miracle of life through the selfless act of her donor’s transplant.

 

My goal is raise financial support for Kelsey for the next three months to recover from her transplant. She needs help with her apartment utilities, car insurance, food, gas travel to appointments two hours away four times a week. Although medical insurance has paid the majority of her expenses, she still has several thousand dollars in additional expenses that was not covered.
