Hello there, to start I just want to express my gratitude to the people who have been there for me already through this rough season. They are right when they say you only need a few good friends to feel whole!!
Here we go... Very beginning of last month my car started acting up on me, kept getting worse so I had it looked at and was able to get a part ordered and a dear friend fixed it for me. After a few days it unfortunately only revealed another problem. During this time my car was absolutely undrivable, but I'm a single mother of 1 and still have bills to pay so of course I had to keep working. So I started taking Uber to and from work... in Franklin from Kingston Springs. Yes, looking back it was so stupid but I had no other choice. Eventually, I lost my job because I could not afford it and because Uber is very unpredictable I was late a lot.
Fast forward to now, I have been able to scrape by on a small amount of savings. I have been rigorous about putting applications out and have had a few interviews the last week or two. I have 2 phone interviews tomorrow as well and Lord willing I hear some very good news very soon because for the 1st time in a very long time I am completely broke. As embarrassing as this is to say and do, I have got to do something so here is my hail Mary. For the 1st time in 5 years, I'm behind on my car payment. It should be paid off in June, but I'm a month behind and terrified I'm going to lose it before I can even get it fixed and drivable again. It needs brakes and of course, my tags are due this month.
I'm also extremely scared of losing where I live if I can't give him my half rent, that would destroy me. I already had to pull my daughter out of daycare because it's just an expense that is not completely necessary. This has broken her heart and mine. I feel very hopeful that I am possibly going back to a previous job from years ago, just waiting to hear back from an old supervisor. But I have to have a car and a place to live for it to even matter at this point. It's an extremely humbling experience to be going through this in recovery and being sober now 5 years. Even in active addiction, I wasn't this far in debt.
I can't even DoorDash or Uber because I have no vehicle.
Ok, this is getting way too long and whiny sounding. I know God has got me and I will get through this. There is a lesson in here somewhere.
Please y'all, anything helps. I'm thankful for anything at all. And especially to my friends who are supporting me and have done so much already. I don't have anyone else to ask, no close family. I was joking around about starting a GoFundMe to a friend and they said, 'Well, why don't you?'
I love you all and thank you to anyone who takes time to even read this.
I do want to say real quick that through all this and I seriously have almost lost it y'all. I have not picked up or had the desire to. So I'm damn proud of myself because that is serious growth and strength. I may be struggling financially but that is nothing compared to what I would and have to lose if I did!!!
God Bless y'all
