Josh's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Josh is 37 years old and was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in November 2014.  He is a loving husband to his wife Natalie and also father of a beautiful 2 year old girl.  The same week of Josh’s diagnosis, Natalie and Josh received the news that they are expecting another child due this summer.

The road has not been easy. The initial biopsy turned out to be a major surgery with internal bleeding and a collapsed lung. He is still feeling the effects of that surgery today. Not long after he was hospitalized for a kidney stone.

Josh has already endured several rounds of chemotherapy. However, despite this treatment, his recent protocol has called for him to travel to Boston for further consultation. On May 11 Josh began a new round of more intensive chemotherapy in Syracuse.  After completion, he will begin 6 weeks of radiation 5 days a week.  After review of his progress, he may to go to Strong Memorial in Rochester NY or back to Boston for more specified chemo/radiation treatment.  The final stage would be in Boston with a stem cell transplant and medication for another year.

Josh has been unable to work during this time and for the foreseeable future. Natalie will be out on maternity leave this summer with their new addition.  Most recently, Josh received notice that he was no longer employed and is no longer eligible for benefits.

Initial response from Social Security Disability was not favorable and is now pending further review which can take months. Most likely will require assistance from an attorney which is another added expense.

The family has created this page to help offset expenses associated with travel, medical bills and other necessary expenses. Short term care insurance has expired and there is no long term care insurance.  We are seeking assistance while they are home without income this summer and helping Josh fight the best fight possible.

A benefit is in the planning stages.
