My debut, Keanu Reeves Is Not In Love With You, was published in January 2024 by Unbound.

It has had amazing reviews from critics, journalists, novelists, comedians, fraud specialists and the people that matter the most - the readers who went out and spent their money!

I thought everything was going well but I didn't realise that the publisher had allegedly been in financial trouble for quite some time. I was paid my first royalties cheque several months late with assurances that the situation was being dealt with.

The second royalties cheque was not paid and authors were told that the publisher was going into administration and a new publishing company, Boundless, was being set up in its place with new investors. It was all done 100% legally.

We were told that out of 'goodwill', the second royalties cheque would be paid via a monthly payment plan but that we would be paid the third royalties cheque on time.

Authors were paid one month of the payment plan before being told that was no longer viable.

The third royalties cheque was never paid.

Unbound/Boundless now owes me thousands of pounds and in my view, I will never see a penny of it so I have finally made the decision to have the rights to my book reverted back to me.

I will never make that money back, and I cannot express the anguish and disappointment that I feel over that, but I also don't want to sit back and see the book to go out of print so I am going to put it out myself through Amazon once I have the rights back.

To do this I would like to try and raise some money to not only cover associated costs such as buying the original cover art, licensing images etc, but also to allow me to devote some time to it to get it done properly.
