Big John's Battle against Cancer

Donation protected

My dad, John "baby" Lefevre, 61,  was diagnosed with a rare form of Pancreaticobiliary cancer called Ampullary Carcinoma in April 2015.  He was a canidate for the Whipple procedure and had the surgery at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  Due to the location and complicated area the tumor was located in we were unsure of his diagnoses until after the surgery. The weeks leading up to the diagnoses were uneasy and restless.  He was a fighter tho and was up and walking within a day of his operation.  His hospital stay lasted 10 days with a return visit due to infection that lasted 4 days.
During the last few months both his wife, Annie(my mom), and himself were out of work.  With all the bills coming in my mom and dad have only be focused on one thing: Getting better. Eating, even when its impossible for him. Doing what the doctors say, and staying on the path to recovery. My mom stayed home for over six weeks with him, all the while helping me care for my son while i work. The whole family has really pulled together. Ive been really proud of him with the condition he is in, to not allow burden of finances to stress him out, to stay focused on the task at hand. As we all know, fincancal problems cause stress and stress inevidably causes disease.  I keep reasurring him that it will all work out and we will get through this.  Not to even think about debt because that the least of our worries.
Thats when i heard about GOFUNDME.
I have been going through every emotion and thought with my dad. The first hospital was a nightmare. Had we of stayed there im not sure where we would be right now. We were able to get him into the best hospital in the state and I'm here now trying to raise money for other treatment centers and therapies he will undergo in the next year to come.  Im looking to buy a high quality juicer for him so he can start rebuilding and repairing cells that will or have been damanged.  Ive been doing tons of research and find that there are a lot of alternative therapies out there that really seem to work but that are not covered by insurance companies.

Im doing this for my mom and dad. They have always helped me and so many others. My dad would literally go broke being charitable and giving to those in need.  And my mom...she is a saint, i really dont know how she does it. She is the most compationate, understanding, forgiving, caring person i have ever known.

I feel like everything is linked in life and during this time of termoil in my head Ive also been inspired. Not just to help my father heal himself but to go on to help others. I want to help all kinds of people find relief and alternative answers to the pain and bothers of this and many other diseases that touch so many lives. Its my calling from the universe and I am so passionate about it.
With that im greatful, Im greatful my dad has a chance to keep fighting the good fight, and im greatful for people who pull through for others. Im greatful to be writing this and know people will read it and care.
Please help me, help my dad, and others find peace in knowing we can all ask for something from the universe and it answers in many different ways. May everyone be blessed and greatful.
Thank you for your time and reading our story.
Warmly,
Danie
