Hurricane Help for The Halligans
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 27, 2017, my best friend, Angela Halligan, and her family were rescued from their hurricane flooded home in League City, Texas. Angela, her wife Erica, and their 3 year old daughter are physically fine. Their road to recovering from Hurricane Harvey is long from over.
They have not been able to return to their home yet, but it is likely a total loss. Both cars are likely gone, too. They lived a half a mile from the Clear Creek Bayou. They escaped with their lives and the wet clothes on their backs. There was no flood insurance on their home. The property has never flooded before and is on a 500-year flood plain.
Angela is currently pregnant with their second baby. The Halligans are Special Education teachers. They are not rich by any stretch. You could not ask for more calm and loving parents. They have focused their energy into staying calm for their very perceptive daughter, while in the midst of chaos. She thought evacuating a fun game.
Right now all we can do is to prepare for what happens after the water receeds. Any donation you can make will help. Donations will go directly to Angela and Erica Halligan via gofundme. They will be used to purchase basic living supplies, replace home contents, and repair damage to the home structure.

This photo shows a restuarant approximately 1.5 miles from their home. This was yesterday, August 27, 2017. And it has been raining all day today.

Thank you so much for your love and support of this amazing family. I know it means so much to them. The days ahead will be hard. They hope to return to their home when they can, when it is safe. We will update you then. Please keep this family and all of Houston in your thoughts and prayers.
