My leg has been amputated for almost 2 years and my insurance does not cover the cost of a prosthetic leg. I really do not like to be dependent on government aid to earn my living. I am an active person and would very much like to work and support my 80 year old mother and my wife as well. She makes only $13/hr and this is not enough to keep a roof on top of our head.
I was told that the cost for a prosthetic leg is about 16,500 plus tax and other minor expenses depending on the type of leg and how it is constructed.
Your help is very much appreciated and it will help me get back on my feet, work, support my family, save my almost 2 year old marriage that was hit very hard a few months after it all started with this leg situation.
I was told By the Social Security Office that we do not qualify for Medi-cal because my wife made too much money 13/hr !!!
Also we were told that if we were to divorce then and only then I would qualify for help. We both do not want to comity fraud nor do anything illegal to have this leg. but quit frankly we are looking forward for my to go back to work and do what I have always done, Cooking and being in the food industry. I also used all this time to write down all of my recipes and family recipes in order to start a cooking show on YouTube to have another source of income. But, all of this can come true and possible only if I had a leg. This will allow my to cook, film my recipes, get back into my catering business and be a productive part of society.
It is very difficult for me to ask for money , but I really need all the help I can get at this point.
