Help Our Family Keep the Lights On and Stay Afloat

We never imagined we’d be in this position, but we’ve reached the end of our resources and need help to keep our family stable.

My husband and I have been working hard to find ways to make ends meet—selling what we can, applying for unemployment, reaching out for loan modifications, and cutting back wherever possible. We were approved for a mortgage forbearance, and we receive food stamps, but right now we have no income at all. My unemployment claim was denied, and while I’ve filed an appeal, the hearing could take months.

In the meantime, we’ve fallen behind on essential bills. Our utilities alone are nearly $650 this month, plus $120 for internet (which we rely on for job searching, medical appointments, and schoolwork for our son), $350 for three phone lines, and $89 for car insurance. Even after stretching every dollar, we simply can’t keep up.

We are exhausted, scared, and trying our best to hold everything together for our 10-year-old son while also managing my husband’s chronic illness and my own health struggles. Every bit of support helps—whether it’s covering a bill, keeping our power on, or easing the daily stress of not knowing how we’ll make it to next month.
