This is my skating student, Kayla. She is 8 years old. This week she suddenly, and tragically, lost her father. There are many things her family needs help with, but one of those things is ice time for Kayla. Others have stepped up to help with food, house, and other resources, but skating will have to go unless her ice skating community can band together to help her skate, even if it's just recreationally. Kayla was supposed to participate in her first Regional Championships in October. Because her father was the sole provider Kayla will no longer be skating competitively. But maybe we can all help so that she can still skate for fun a few days a week.

Her favorite jump is double salchow, and her favorite spin is a pancake spin. She's been my student for 4 years. I could not be more proud of the great attitude, and sportsmanship that she shows every time she skates. I cannot express how wonderful this family is. Her father never missed a competition, and even came to her first USFS skating test. He, and his smile, will be greatly missed.

Kayla LOVES to skate, and so do her three siblings!  They skate at least once a week, as a family, playing on the ice.

Please, donate ANYTHING, even if it's $1. Every little bit helps. Let's keep these kids on the ice, where they find joy, laughter, and friendship. During difficult times like this, when their world has been shattered, it can greatly help in providing the children with some level of normalcy. 

YOUR donation will help keep Kayla and her siblings on the ice from now until the end of year. If we surpass the $800 goal, then maybe we can help them well into the new year, too.
