- Many of you know my daughter, Zoey. What most of you don’t know is the medical struggles she has been having. Zoey is now in constant pain, unable to walk on some days, severe headaches, episodes of passing out, increased heart rate, and nausea. Many specialists are involved and while we have some answers, we still have a long way to go to help her. The medical bills, co-pays, and unknowns are becoming overwhelming. We travel to VCU for her specialists and testing as well. Zoey is now on intermittent homebound for school as she is unable to move most days to even get to school. She had to stop dancing and enjoying her friends as she once did. I am a single mother and work full-time, but it is a struggle financially right now to ensure she has all of the things she needs: doctor visits, medicines, and equipment. I would like to get her a transport wheelchair and possibly a rollator to get her to appointments on bad days as well. Any help for Zoey is much appreciated. I am not one to ask for help or tell my personal business, but I do know many people love Zoey and in the end, I just want the best for her.
