In February 2026 Matthew went to the emergency room for a simple antibiotic for a sinus infection. Matthew didnt recieve an antibiotic, he was given a life changing diagnosis. After blood work he was informed by the emergency doctor "(You have cancer of some sort!!"). This was the beginning of Matthew & his family's journey. Within a couple days and a slew of tests, the results where in. Matthew had been diagnosed with ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA. (AML is an aggressive cancer of the blood & bone marrow). These words have such an impact, so many unanswered questions and fear for himself and his family. After overcoming so much in life Matthew, was back fighting for survival. Matthew has been in hospital for nearly a month, recieving chemo daily, with having a spouse, 9 month old baby and 3 other children from age 9 to 15 who love him dearly, its been really difficult and expensive between travel, hotel stays, food etc. but, essential in supporting Matthew.

Matt has always been known for a kind gentle soul who enjoyed life and his family is his number 1 priority. Having funds would help make visits to see Matthew easier and little less stressful.
