Road to the PGA Tour

Hi, my name is Joel Sawyer, with your help I will be able to accomplish my goal of reaching the PGA Tour! Upon turning professional in August of 2015, I have had a successful start to my career. I debuted at the Georgia PGA Open, where I finished 15th out of 144 players, finishing ahead of many more experienced and acclaimed golfers. I then headed to Florida and played on the OGA Moonlight Tour where I had 1 win, 2 third place finishes, a sixth, and a seventh place finish in my first 5 events. Over these first 6 professional events, my scoring average has moved to a 70.25.

I am currently a member of the Swing Thought Tour, which used to be the Hooters Tour, and am looking to play in a minimum of 20 events over this coming year. I feel that this will best prepare me for the Web.com tour Q-school that begins in September. In order to do this, and reach my goal of first the Web.com tour, and then the PGA Tour, I will need about $1,500 to play in each weekly event. With your help, I will be able to get on the road and into a few events!


The Swing Thought Tour does not pay as well as the PGA Tour obviously, and there are no guarantees that I will make money right away. With this being said, I feel confident that I will be able to earn enough funds to continue my tour play, all I need is the chance to start!

My first event is February 29th-March 4th, and from there I will be on the road almost non-stop until mid June. I can not express fully my gratitude for any help you may render. Thank you in advance! God has given me the ability and desire to play golf at the highest level possible, and I will work as hard as needed to reach that level.
