I never imagined having to write something like this, but I want to share what our family has been going through and ask for your support.
In November 2025**,my dad suffered a stroke that changed our lives overnight. It left the right side of his body partially paralyzed and made it difficult for him to speak. After several days at Sanford Hospital, he was transferred to Sioux Falls Rehabilitation, where he worked incredibly hard to recover. During that time, he was able to communicate, understand everything around him, and slowly regain some movement. Seeing that progress gave us hope.
After a few weeks, my dad was able to return home. However, due to the lasting effects of the stroke, he was no longer able to work. This was especially hard for him, as work and staying active were a huge part of who he is. Many of you know my dad personally or may recognize him from walking our “famous” dog, Milo, during the nicer months. He was always on the move—sitting still was never an option for him.
Recently, our family faced another devastating setback. Within the past week, my dad has suffered multiple mini-strokes. His condition has worsened to the point where he is now unable to communicate and struggles to eat without choking. Despite taking all prescribed medications, doctors are still searching for answers as to why this is continuing to happen.
During all of this, my mom has been doing everything she can to care for my dad while also working full time. Watching her try to balance caregiving, work, and the emotional weight of all of this has been incredibly difficult.
Asking for help is not easy, but any support—no matter how small—would mean the world to our family. Donations will help ease the financial burden and allow my mom to focus on caring for my dad during this critical time. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this message is more than enough and truly appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your time, kindness, and support.
