Macy Ray's Nephrotic Syndrome Fight
Donation protected
Several of Wayne and Melba Brown's friends have set this account up for them. As many of you know, their precious daughter, Macy Ray, was diagnosed with a rare disease called Nephrotic Syndrome in July 2015.
Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney disorder that causes your body to excrete too much protein in your urine. Nephrotic syndrome causes swelling (edema), particularly in your feet and ankles, and increases the risk of other health problems.
Macy Ray has had several hospital visits, been on many kinds of medications, missed a lot of school and has had to change her complete diet. All of this has been very challenging for her and her parents.
She was improving, but the first week of December, Macy Ray began relapsing. On December 7, her nephrologist admitted her into the children's hospital in Augusta so he could monitor and began treatment on her. He decided that she will have to have a kidney biopsy. They need to make sure that this is the kind of NS that he originally diagnosed. He said she's not stable enough to have the procedure done right now. He is looking at mid January, once he can get her well and strong enough.
First, we are asking for lots of prayers!! This will be an ongoing battle for Macy Ray and her family. Her parents have had to miss work so they can be with her during treatment and the medical bills keep adding up. Please give what you feel in your heart to give. The family appreciates all the prayers, calls, texts and emails. Keep the prayers coming. We love you, Macy Ray!!
